So here I go. I am not going to start a battle of the sexes but I am just going to let out my point of view regarding the subject matter. I hope I am not going to bore you but I will do my very best to make this very entertaining, a bit irritating and coyly offensive (lol). I have been around for more than a quarter of a century (will not reveal my exact age..hahaha) and so far I have had unfortunate encounters with men who has gigantic egos and wears a huge sign on their foreheads saying "I am a man".
Before I proceed let me give you first Mr. Webster's definition of ego. The simplest and most uncomplicated definition or synonym of ego is self-worth or self-esteem. So in short most men tend to have a very high self-esteem and see themselves very, very worthy of respect and admiration. That's not so bad, but I guess the downside of having that much self worth is when you start to look down on other people especially those from the opposite sex (tsk, tsk, tsk).
According to the website The Frisky there are at least 9 ways to unintentionally bruise a man's ego. These are the most common but if I were to make a list I bet it would reach at least 50 (hahaha). I am not a man hater, this is not what this post is all about but I am just pro equality and no to double standards. But as Filipina I can say that in our society women are already given an almost equal treatment with men. I just hope that the same thing will happen in other countries where women are still treated as secondary citizens. Women are not given the same opportunities and right to education and livelihood, they do not have the freedom to express themselves not even to choose their spouse.
This is not men's fault. Nor the fault of their egos, most of these inequalities are brought about either political or religious factors.
